DVD Caution on Nissan Pathfinder

Postby canadasnow » Wed Nov 17, 2010 10:10 am

So, i have owned my new pathfinder for a week. One of the first things i had wanted to do was purhcase a Overhead DVD player for my kids in vehicle. I went to have this installed at a 'Shady' place (first mistake) to save a few hundred dollars.
They cut the headliner and installed it 6" away from the front seats, which make it way too damn close for the rear passengers to see. They told me with the way the row bars are positioned in the vehicle it was their only option.
Basically i flipped out, because when i told them to make it right, they advised that the headliner had been cut and it was impossible.
So i went to a 'Professional' place and after they laughed at the install they came up with an idea to place a 1/8 piece of plywood cut to fit he unit and block the hole and cover it with a sub-woofer stereo box material to match the interior. They told me it would look as professional as possible, but wanted $200 bucks more to do this.... talk about a piss-off!! i will post a picture of how in turns out...but a heads up to you all please make sure you discuss in depth the positionig of the player prior to the install...and dont skimp on somtheing this serious....its one of those things that you only get one shot at it....and yes i am chasing the previous installer for a settlement.

wow that is close. the models with sunroof have the bracket there for it as a templete. they should've mounted just level with the b-pillar.
