More Freebies!! IPDM (kinda....)

Postby Tech » Thu Oct 28, 2010 9:25 pm

Yeah, you heard right. NA is getting an IPDM recall too. Relay only, not entire unit. Previously listed as a non-serviceable part. At present, we're just gonna do 05-06 (i know, i know....)

Thats all i'm gonna say....be patient.

I already got my free replacement relay from the head mechanic at my local nissan dealer... I told him I didn't want it replaced, I'll pop it in when it actually fails.

Nissan better not come up with the same croak of shit as they did with the Fuel Sending unit were they are just "extending the warranty" :x

I had the same problem with my 05 Pathfinder a few months ago. It shut off while I was driving. I waited a few minutes and it started again. Hadn't had a problem till this morning. Parked in my garage, the darn thing won't start. Smells like burning under the hood. All the gauges flash and makes a clicking sound. I had it towed. I did some googling and saw the recall. Called Nissan and they said my car wasn't listed. I'm getting it fixed anyway. I'll just send them the bill when they figure their crap out. Haven't heard from the shop yet, so I hope it actually IS the IPDM and not something else.

So will a recall letter get mailed out and all will be replaced or will I have to drive until failure to get this repaired? Is it a unit that has proven not to fail or is it just a replacement with the same unit?

My dealer told me that the recall/warranty ext. should happen in Dec.
