I just received a letter from Nissan today that indicates they are extending the warranty from 36 months/36,000 miles to 96 months/80,000 miles. The letter states the warranty includes damage and repair.
Will that cover the damage and repair to the transmission should the radiator fail, or does it cover the radiator only?

I also got one of those letters. Unfortunately, I had to have my transmission replaced. Fortunately, after I contacted the dealership, they submitted the letter and my receipts to Nissan Canada. I should be getting a full refund this week.
So...yes they will give you a refund for your transmission replacement. If the transmission wasn't damaged, the dealer will only replace the radiator. I personally would insist on the dealer doing a full examination of the transmission. My dealer hooked up a computer to my card and went for a long drive at different speeds and different gears.
