We have 'No-Fault' insurance up here, provided by an government arms-length organization. I can't sue anybody if I'm hurt, and have to work it out with my insurance provider (ie the government).daxnizmo wrote:Bump-asaurus wrecks.
Been a while but just as i thought this situation was done with....I got served! I actually got served/sued 3 weeks before Christmas. The passenger of the other vehicle sued me AND the other driver! What i was sued for was medical bills, physical pain and suffering, mental pain and anguish, and my favorite......loss of ability to enjoy life as he did prior to the accident. WTF. So by the time I got my papers, he had already settled for $11,000. That's just from ME (my insurance company), so not sure what he got from the other driver. It really pissed my wife off too. The damage on the Pathy was a lot worse than theirs. Ughh, people are so "sue happy" nowadays.
Not sure which system is better. In yours, people can get 'sue-happy', in mine, you are relying on the government to do the right thing.
