I would like to eliminate all of the chrome trim from my pathy. I want to paint/replace all chrome trim pieces with matte black. Just need to figure out the best way to use the existing parts, plan on visiting my local body shop to get their advice. I will keep you posted...

Here is mine so far...

Picking up a 2008 Black LE 4X4 this weekend. Let me know if you ever got the chrome door trim blacked out. Not sure I will be doing a total black out but i'm not to thrilled about the door trim.

You can purchase the moldings for a non LE model and they don't have the crhome in them.

LT Front door part # 80871-ZP59E List price $35.92
RT Front door part # 80870-ZP59E List price$35.92
LT Rear door part # 82871-EA59E List price $37.63
RT Rear door part # 82870-EA59E List price $37.63

They would have to be painted. If you try to paint over the existing chrome on the moldings you have now the paint will eventually chip and peel off. Paint dosesn't stick to chrome very well.

Pathygirl I like your pathy a lot, looks real nice. Looks like you have lift what kind did you go with and what percentage did you tint your windows?

You could go with the plasti-dip spray route if you want a matte black finish. I've been running plasti-dip on my commuter car's winter wheels without any issues at all. Also, several people have used it over on the frontier forum with a lot of success. It's really cheap and easy to apply and sticks to chrome. The best thing is that you can take it off if you ever want to put it back to stock.
