Remote dome light switch?

Postby dbetterred » Sat Mar 05, 2011 7:16 pm

The recent dome light thread reminded me of this.

Is there any way to turn the dome lights behind the front seat on other than opening the door? From the drivers seat I mean.

Every vehicle I have owned you could turn the head light switch farther or the dimmer switch or something to turn all the dome lights in the car on. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it in my pathfinder.
I can turn the map lights on obviously, but nothing else.

'05 xe with almost 80,000 miles. And it's been pissing me off all these years.

I don't think you can, it's been irritating me since I bought my '07. The kids struggle to belt in, and there is no way for me to turn the light on directly above them.

Agreed. My 1999 Jeep grand cherokee is able to turn the dimmer switch and turn all the lights on why can't my 2008 pathfinder do that. I'd be intrested in some kind of switch.

I'm sure you could find the wires for one of the door switches and override it with a separate switch so it would act like the door is open when you pressed it.

Ya. I could, but I know I won't. If I was going to fix it I wouldn't have waited for 80000 miles. It will just frustrate me for another 80000.
