Bye Bye Pathy...unfortunately

Postby Budrbean » Mon Mar 28, 2011 9:24 pm

Well after much debating and weighing options, I decided to trade the Pathfinder today. Gas is just too much to be driving a large SUV and it was costing me almost the same in gas per month as the actual loan payment. That on top of all the mechanical issues that continued to come about (new transmission defaulting to 3rd, idler squeak, etc, etc, etc.) has caused me to realize that Nissan has indeed let us down. I loved my Pathfinder and I love Nissan, but they owe it to us now to provide a better product in the future. So for now, I bought me a 2011 Kia Soul. Still big enough to carry the dogs around and a whopping 32 mpg! Ill admit its not my favorite car, but its the most practical for me right now. Thinking about moving off to school so needed better mileage and reliability. Im hoping that in 5 or 6 years, I can come back to Nissan and they will be back to the quality they used to be. And yes, I know Kia is not what one might call quality but its cheap which is what I need for now, and 5yr/60,000 bumper to bumper warranty and 100,000 powertrain...cant really go wrong.

It was a pleasure meeting you all and I thank you all so much for the advice during this time. Until then, yall keep it between the lines!

I had asked 15,500 for it, but by the time they twisted and turned to make the deal, they gave me 15,900........on paper that is. Nobody but the dealer ever wins, but that is fair trade value according to Kelley Blue Book. Not bad for a gas guzzler.

Sorry to see ya go, but as long as your happy with your decision, that's all anyone can ask for. Hope you enjoy the Kia. Kia is owned by Hyundai and Hyundai has really come around and made good cars/suvs. Then the other good part about them is the best warranty they offer. Can't beat them.

Sorry to see you go as well. I was almost going to trade in my Pathfinder for an even bigger gas guzzler (2010 Ram Pickup) in December, but just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on that (plus I've spent waaay too much money on mods that I'd never be able to recoup).
