ATF flush

Postby pandarturo88 » Tue May 31, 2011 10:51 am

I searched the forums, and all I can find is the drain and fill method for ATF. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a full flush, I know you can drain it from the hose running to the radiator, but is there anyway to have the tranny "suck up" the new fluid so I don't over fill it or under through the dipstick inlet. Thank you.

Well as discussed before If you don't run the engine and drain via lowest point I think you only drain or suck what is in the box but not what is in the torque converter.

If you read the spec on how much oil is supposed to be in the box, and assume that it is full when you start it would seem obvious that if you put that amount in via the dip stick hole it will not be far away.

Once you are at the clean oil coming out phase, shut it down and check.

If you are worried get a tech to do it.

Thanks for the input. ill just look around on teh net, cause I was talking with one of my bosses and he said that it's possible to have your transmission suck up the new fluid and allow you to change out all of the fluid in your tranny.

Check out clubfrontier.org and thenewx.org as they share many parts with the Pathfinder.
