Bilstein sku numbers and compatability (and rancho)

Postby khaosduke » Sat Jun 25, 2011 9:48 pm

Hello everyone, I've been having a hard time finding the sku numbers for the Bilstein 5100 front struts. I saw one thread where they were put as: BE5-E653-HO. However finding struts with that number seems to be exceedingly difficult. Now 4x4 Parts makes it easy and just lists Pathfinder R51. 2005+ Bilstein ride height adjustable front struts and you're done. If you're trying to google these it's rough and most sites don't list bilstein or ranchos front struts for these trucks but they have no problem listing rears.

Secondly bilstein has apparently changed their numbering scheme. I would like to use this thread to clear some of this confusion up and make it easier for everyone.

1) Are 24-187053 the same as BE5-E653-HO? They are listed as front struts for Frontiers.

2) Are there different models for 4wd vs 2wd vehicles ? Which part numbers work best for each?

3) What are the equivalent numbers for Rancho? (for the people looking for rancho struts and shocks).

I know some of this has been brought up but it's all scattered about. Hope we can clear some of this up. Thanks guys!

Found this on Bilsteins site:

http://cart.bilsteinus.com/product/24-187053

46mm Monotube Shock Absorber

Part Number: 24-187053
Old Part Number: F4-BE5-E653-H0

Setting: 5100 Series Ride Height Adjustable
*Collapsed Length (IN): 10.55
*Collapsed Length (MM): 268.0
*Extended Length (IN): 15.26
*Extended Length (MM): 387.5

Descriptor: Front Lifted Height: 0-2"
Drive Type: RWD
Position: Front
Quantity Per Vehicle: 2

So that is indeed the same strut as F4-BE5-E653-H0 as I've seen on other threads. Now the issue is , it says Drive type RWD. I'm on the 05 LE 4x4. Does it matter that the strut says RWD?? Does anyone know the difference? Has anyone used this strut with a 4WD?

Thanks again guys. and thanks pandarturo88 for the bump

Why not go with the KYB made in Japan.

http://www.amazon.com/KYB-341468-GR-2-S ... &carId=016

I found that amazon.com has the cheapest price.
