Biggest tire

Postby nscarola » Sat Apr 02, 2011 7:50 pm

What would be the biggest tire that you can put on a stock 08 pathfinder. i want to buy larger offroad tires but not sure how big i can go before it rubs.

I'd like to know this as well, but you have to make sure you leave enough room for flex for when you are off road. Don't want the tire ripping apart your pathfinder out on the trails.

I would say a 265/70/17 or a 265/75/16

I get a little bit of rubbing when turning into a parking lot with a steep slope but that's about it. I offroad with it and my tires seem to be doing great. Not enough rubbing to even worry about.

That's the flex part you have to worry about.

not really.

the bumper hits the sand and it gets pushed back onto the tyre.

flex is fine.

What tires are you running?

Now that I realize I've got 16's and not 17's my tire search has taken a new spin. Was looking at the BFG Rugged Terrain T/A but it looks like it has a low tread wear rating though they still have a 6yr 50k mile warranty

Michelin LTX MS2

yeah the all terrains are nice, but they wear out quick, i have the BFG goodrichs on for almost 10 months only before they needed raplcement.
