no experience with that unit. I have a compustar RF-2W900 in my 08 civic. Supposed to get 3000ft of range, but I need to get it checked as I don't get anywhere near that.

Functionality is good, was considering putting it into the pathy, but I saw that the local FLAPS (canadian tire) carries units for $100 that have the same range and functionality.

Dealer shouldn't charge more than $200. well worth it.

Also available at all FLAPS up here North of the border.

I just got the 5901 installed. Searching for the right dealer was interesting. I called about 5 or 6 to get quotes and info. Since my Path has an intelligent key, I needed a module for the auto start (i knew that after researching on viper's site). One dealer said I would have to leave a key in the car for the auto start to work (not true anymore). Another dealer didn't seem to have any idea what I was talking about.

I finally took it to a local dealer that first found out what it would take to get it to work then gave me a quote. I takes two keys to program the module.

Long story short. It cost $600 installed, which included the module. So far it's really cool. Thinking about the iPhone smart start next. Good luck

not really sure if the 30.00 fee is worth it. i mean its a cool app but a little over board. im sure someone will come out with a hack to make it easier to rob your car in the next few weeks as well

I have a Valet 561T, works great, and uses the factory remote so I don't have an additional FOB.

range is limited though... Some of the units out there get 1/2 a mile.

not much of an issue for me as most of the time I'm letting the pathy warm up in my driveway.

I thought I'd try to bring this thread back to life. I'm looking at the Valet 561T for my wife's 08 Pathfinder. I'd like to use the factory remote as well. Does anyone have any input on programming difficulties they came across? I've read that hitting lock twice starts the engine, any idea if the panic button can be disabled and reprogrammed as the remote start?
Thanks in advance!

If you have the smart key, then yes. Hitting the lock button twice will do the remote start for your Pathfinder. I actually knew more about the Pathfinder then my salesman did. I asked him if it had remote start, he replied no, then I showed him the double press on the lock button.

I have the Viper 5701 and is by far the nicest upgrade I have purchased for my path. The remote start is great my car can be start or turned off up to a half mile away and the remote also tells me the interior temperature of my pathfinder. The security the Viper 5701 offers is also unbeatable.
