08 Gas MPG

Postby 1armyguy » Sun Oct 09, 2011 7:27 pm

Just got back from a 300 approximate mile trip one way and got 20.2 mpg going up with Regular 87 octane and 21.5 mpg coming back with 93 octane. Haven't figured out the price difference to see if it was worth the extra money but, I think pertaining to the mpg's for the trip, she did pretty good. That was running at 70 - 75mph going up and 75 - 80mph coming back. I had less traffice coming back, that's the main reason for the increase in mph.

If you can stay out of traffic these are quite efficient given the performance and capabilities. I routinely get well above 20 on the highway and still average 18-19mpg on my typical commute. But if I make a couple extra trips around town during the day...even if only a few miles it blows my avg to hell. Cold starts tend to really drink the fuel as well. I need to hook up my scan guage and see what the gallons/hr these are pulling during cold start.

yes they do seem very eficient as long as you are too hard on the skinny pedal. I was pleasantly surprised and happy.
