Rocker panel coatings

Postby Gray » Sat Sep 27, 2008 5:49 pm

Do any have experience with different types of rocker panel coatings. I've been looking at 3M products but was wondering if there might be something more effective. Thanks.

I've used Hammerite on 1/4" plates that was directly bolted to the side of my 1982 CJ7. Never chipped or flaked off and it gave the plate a smooth pourous finish.

It came in a aerosol can and you'll probably need 2 cans to spray both sides.

With the 06 Pathfinder with step boards, that really protects the rocker panels.

I've also read some messages on other Nissan forums that they've used 3M clear tape on their plastic bumpers? It's fairly thick and think it does a pretty good job, but applying it to rocker panels in one length will get tricky.
