Look for the rubber bulging out the sides. If your bushings are going your sway bar might be contacting the frame. Although mine manifested itself as a metallic clack, I could see how it might squeak under different circumstances. Nissan changed the design of the new sway bar bushing to prevent this.pandarturo88 wrote:Thanks are there any tell-tale signs of them wearing when I'm under there?
That same test would also show if your wheel bearings are worn out.volvite wrote:A good way to tell if it's ball joints is to jack up the font end, and grab the tire at the 12 and 6 position and push forward and back, and then grab at the 9 and 3 positions and push forward a back. If your tire is loose there, that's a good indication of a worn ball joint.
Nice find, I'll have to remember this one. The clicking was probably a good tell vs a ball joint being loose.disallow wrote:Just looking to do a little discussing...
I had to do the front wheel bearing assy on the pathy last summer. Not a cheap proposition. However, it was by far the easier one vs doing a ball joint.
There was no hum, just some clicking when hitting bumps. I did the test you mentioend, and there was a fair bit of play when the tire was on. Once removed, it was harder to get the 'play' to exhibit itself, but eventually I managed to figure out it was the bearing assy.
