the fuel level sending unit campaign is not a recall, it is an extended warranty campaign

Uhhh, mine says recall. After reading more closely, it would appear that Nissan is ignoring all but the 2006 and 2008 MYs.

Sounds like Nissan's confused them selfs about whether it's a extended warranty or it's recall.

I got the 72k extension letter a while back - probably around 80k ;) Weird that I got this one as a "second notice." I'm anal enough that if I did get the first notice it would be in the truck's file.

My money's on '06 and '08 complaints reaching a threshold where NHTSA would intervene if Nissan didn't voluntarily recall. Make sure you file with NHTSA, and mention to Nissan NA's customer care that you know that at least some other MYs are subject to recall for your issue.

Good luck!

Drove it to the dealer today with 1/4 of a tank and the SES light came on and DTE showed "0"... After I dropped it off, they called me saying the Fuel level sensor was bad and it would cost $459.
I told them I would call Nissan to see it they could extend the warranty/recall. Dealership called me back saying they called Nissan and got them to pay for it.
I'm a happy man! :o

Well, according to the National Highway traffic Safety Administration, 2 recalls have been issued by Nissan North America. The two recalls are for unrelated issues. One is for the 2011-2012 Nissan Quest Minivans over software difficulties. The second recall is of the 2003-2005 Infiniti Q45, involving wiring problems that could impact side air bag deployment. Anyway, the recall is being issued because of a potential software glitch that affects the fuel pump control module. And in addition to that, the defect may restrict the amount of fuel pumped to the engine if the tank is less than a quarter full, or slowly advancing downhill, or if it is idling. Perhaps, the engine could stall under these circumstances, increasing the chance of a collision.Source for this article: Nissan announces two unrelated recalls.

They fixed my fuel sending unit under warranty

I have an 06 with just under 100k miles and never had any trouble. Do the radiator / transmission bypass as soon as you can...it takes about 10 minutes. I have never had the SES light come one..still rides smooth, brakes smooth and shifts good. I plan on keeping this one for atleast another 50-75k miles
