Awesome setup on your Pathy!RacerZX wrote:Correct. The new setup might rub the same amount, I never noticed/worried about it, really not an issue.
Yep, I understand those pros and cons. Thanks for posting your mods and info.RacerZX wrote:There's a bunch of little advantages and disadvantages...
The biggest advantages are a much larger footprint for traction when off-roading, and an extra inch of ground clearance without mucking with the OEM suspension.
The biggest disadvantage is the truck delivers 7% less power to the wheels and is therefore slower. While the V8 has lots of power to begin with, it also already has taller gearing than the V6, so adding 7% additional is something you can really feel.
Do you feel the overall gearing significantly reduced the power at your tires? I keep seeing complaints of inadequate gearing of the V8. I find that the V8 is quite strong, but I haven't towed or been seriously off road. Add that with the over size tires and it sounds like the Pathy will be limping along.RacerZX wrote:

Here's the front struts in a mid-state of disassembly. One pita was just getting the lower bolt undone to get it off the truck. Air tools didn't even help, it took dual breaker bars plus another couple feet of pipe to extend the breaker bar handle. Nissan Spec says 155ft-lbs, yikes, that's a bolt!

Their description is CRAP, but the springs are awesome, two thumbs up, can't wait to get some driving time in to feel how the rear end sways and tracks with the front now:

Lastly, do NOT expect to do this job with a spring compressor, the lower spring perch totally inhibits that option. You'll need to support the spring perch with a tranny jack and take off the outboard bolt and lower it down. Assembly is the reverse, though getting the bolt hole to line up just right is a bit of a PITA...
