1993 a/c issue

Postby Chuck Norris » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:30 pm

I just got this 93 Pathfinder and the a/c blew air, but not cold. I got a can of freon and put that in, but now it's just a bit cool, not cold, not hot air. Do I just need more freon, or do you think I have another issue?

You shouldn't need to add unless there's a leak in the system. As far as the performance, you'll need to get a set of high and low pressure AC gauges to see what the pressures are and compare them, along with the vent temp output, with the specs given in the factory service manual AC performance test.

Is the service manual available for free online anywhere? I found the regular owner's manual, but not the service manual for free. Amazon wants 140 bucks for one!

Nissan was only using paper service manuals in 93. Try looking for a used one on Ebay. Or, you could get a single vehicle subscription from ALLDATA.
