CRAZY LONG WEEKEND!

Postby jtorres186 » Wed May 23, 2012 1:29 pm

Hey guys, so this is my first post on here,Ive had my pathfinder 05 le for 2 years now, bought it with 101,000 km,got my tranny done and haven't had a problem with the truck since that happened 1.5 years ago until this last weekend....i was driving from Winnipeg to grand forks north Dakota when all of a sudden all my dash lights turned on,i got my vehicle towed to Nissan in grand forks who showed me that the wire that runs along the chassis was melted, they were not sure why but they ordered and replaced the wire.I left my truck there from Saturday until yesterday and i rented a car temporarily.I picked up the pathy yesterday around 1pm,20 minutes into my trip back to Canada the same thing happened,my truck just died in the middle of i29...I called the dealership they sent a tow truck(no cost) and 8 hours later realized my muffler having a whole was causing hot air to blow directly on the wire and melting it(i'll post a pic later)they welded a piece of metal over the whole so i made it back to Canada and i need a new muffler which will be the answer to my problem,Just wanted to let you guys know,if anyone has had this issue, let me know and ill try my best to answer.

Hey man,

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but glad you got them figured out.

Good to see another Manitoban on the forums! How many miles on your rig?

When you say you got your tranny done, what did you have done?

I bought my truck from crown nissan in may of 2010, I noticed that the truck would shake at random speeds. I was over waranty by 1000 kms so i coudnt get anything done by the dealer without it costing me,one day in december my truck stopped and my tranny was done, i bought a new tranny for 2500...this all had to do with that bad radiator thing..i got that replaced with it too

We bought ours from Terry Ortynsky (Now Vickars). It had 95k kms on the clock when we got it.

I did the bypass about 2-3 months after we got it. No contamination issues, and she now has about 200k kms on her.

Been thinking about selling it and upgrading to a v8, but to do that I'll probably have to buy one state-side, which takes time I don't have.

The only year they offered a v8 up here was 2008, and I might have seen one of them on the lot. Actually test drove it, but wasn't willing to shell out $55k+tax to drive it home.

Yea, I understand. You should take a trip to the states and import from here to Canada.
