I lived in Georgia with moderate climates. I have always used 10w-30 dino in my 06 and thinking about now going to Mobile synthetic.

any reason or advantages to go to 5w-30 or go with 10w-30? I change every 5000 miles.

If you're going to hold at 5k intervals...I wouldn't bother. Unless you're torturing your engine somehow....I don't see any benefit to synthetic in day-to-day use. The real advantage for typical users is extended drains.

I agree with skinny2. The advantage of 5W30, which is what Nissan specs, over 10W30 is that the 5W30 will have a thinner viscosity during cold weather start ups.

So what you guys are saying is if I'm going to change my oil at about 5K intervals is to stick with regular oil and skip Mobil 1? 8)

Yup. 5k is conservative by the manual...so I certainly wouldn't pay for synthetic. Unless you're running the PF as a race-car or towing heavy for gobs of miles.

It's really a matter of personal preferance if your changing your oil at 7500 mile or less intervals and your driving doesn't fall under the catagory of what Nissan defines as "severe duty." Conventional oil will work just fine; just make sure that whatever brand you choose has the "API certified" seal on it and the oil meets the manufacturer's specifications; most of the 5W30 engine oils that you find in your local auto parts store or department store's auto section will meet those specifications. If you do drive under "severe duty" conditions, or drive for extended mileage intervals, or just "want the best" for your engine, then synthetic oil is the way to go. Some of those that do use synthetic oil under "normal" conditions do claim that their engine runs smoother or they get a little better gas mileage. Whether you will experience that by using synthetic, I cannot say, but you may want to try it and see.
