accident :-/

Postby marked001 » Sat Oct 28, 2006 11:18 am

coming through an intersection packed with cars crossing...i had the green..it was green for a good 15 seconds..i come through and someone trying to get through the intersection wacks me from the side.. rear passenger tire/wheel took the full blow...bounced us over a bit...no body damage at all...but the wheel is certainly not straight.. have to wait until mon/tues to hear from the damn claims adjuster... hoping its just maybe knocked out of alignment and nothing major bent so its a quick fix.

Sorry to hear you got wacked. Hope they have insurance. Try to find a reputable shop to get the repairs done. They will probably have to replace the whole rear axle and pumpkin internals. Since the axle probably pushed into it and popped some things apart. Just make sure when you get it back that you see the slip from the alignment. If there is no slip, don't take it. You want it to be totally finished before taking or you will run into problems getting things taken care of. Someone else had his Frontier worked on and once he took it back the insurance said we are done, you need to work it out yourself.

Just a word to the wise.

At least it will be covered by the other drivers insurance. So what do they need to replace? At least the control arm, wheel and tire, hub for the axle, the axle and maybe some brake hardware?
