Front differential capacity

Postby Cooper993 » Mon Feb 11, 2013 9:21 pm

Changed the gear oil in my front diff last weekend. The service manual states the capacity is 1.75 pints. It also says to check the level is at the filler hole.

However, I was able to put in a quart and the level still wasn't to the filler hole.

What is the correct capacity?

1 3/4 pints should be correct for the front diff
i don't remember re-filling mine with a different amount than the service manual specifies

yes, level ground. Also did the rear and transfer case and didn't have an issue with capacity in those
