Yup. I normally don't keep a vehicle this long...(over 90k at the moment) but I haven't found anything I like that's better. I dropped $450 on an OEM radiator as a precaution and plan to drive it for quite awhile longer.BattleWagon wrote:no shit right? I've pretty much conceded to driving it forever, they're a great deal used if you fix the issue past 80k.
Probably could work. I'd still rather keep the transmission I have (which I know works perfectly) in stead of risking a rebuilt unit. While it should be "like new" there's always a risk of making your life even more miserable at some point.DanJetta wrote:I've always wondered... what's to keep someone with 78,000 miles from dumping coolant into the transmission to speed the process? Since it's gonna happen, why wouldn't someone help it happen within the extended warranty?
I wouldn't have the balls... just wondering.
I would be more worried if I owned an '05/'06 which seem to have a lot of problems. So far mine has been pretty much flawless and the interior has held up great. I didn't mind spending a few bucks on prevention at this point. If it starts to nickel/dime me....I may look for something else. I'm doing 25k miles a year and need something reliable.speedi65 wrote:Now I'll hate to get rid of this thing.
The exterior is still in awesome shape. Tires with around 8k on them..
Brakes will be due this summer but that's no biggie.
I'm afraid it will start to nickle and dime me to death. The interior plastic parts are breaking (cupholders, latches etc..)
Oil pressure sending unit on the blink
Fuel reading is hit or miss....
Ugh.
