Yeah, not going to be able to do much of anything in the mud with the 4x2.
One advantage is that you can go slightly higher with a lift up front only because you don't have CV joints to worry about, but, again, not much of a point aside from looks.
I got stuck in the snow in 4Lo this past winter. Fell into ravine, no dice. Sad thing was I was about 8 feet from the actual road. Snow buried the actual train and I rode off of it. Luckily I has a huge ice scraper I used as a shovel.
