Clock and Heater Controls Question

Postby Rustybux » Sat Sep 07, 2013 8:38 am

94 XE model

Do any of you have problems with your clock? Mine gains 5 minutes in every 8 hours. It's too fast.

Also, The heater controls, ashtray, etc have no lights. They are dark. The speedo lights work. What could be wrong?

Thanks.

AS far as the clock is concerned, my volks was also gaining a few minutes a day. After much searching on Bentley Publishers technical forums I found that the reason was because of a corrosion issue due to the humidity inside the cabin. The corrosion attacks the connector material (copper/ solder?) and causes some kind of a bypass or short.
Dismantling the cluster and cleaning the back around the clock might reveal some corrosion. Remove any that is there and re-solder everything back, that worked on the VW; maybe it'll work on the Pathy!!

As far as the ashtray lights and heater control lights are concerned I'm at a loss.. Sorry about that
