Lots of brake dust on 2014 Pathfinder.

Postby gladiator99 » Sun Aug 18, 2013 10:10 am

Picked up our new Pathfinder platinum 3 weeks ago and really like the new model. However I have noticed a great deal of brake dust on the wheels after less than 1000 km. Is that because of new brake discs or a cheaper disc material. Hopefully the presence of this black dust will lessen over time.
Wondering hkow many other new owners are experiencing the same issue?

I would think Nissan used ceramic pads on the R52, like they do for the R51s, which usually don't make a lot of dust. With such low mileage, I'm wondering if there is a tire shine product applied to the wheels and that's what's attracting the dirt?

Well I washed the car and the wheels so I will see if the wheels accumulate more brake dust. I would have thought that Nissan would have used Ceramic brake pads. This is not a cheap vehicle.

Cheers,

Our Infiniti had some crap brake pads on and the brake dust was horrible. Had the dealer replace on their dime and all was good......
