oil pressure gauge needle pegged to H

Postby PC5 » Sat Jan 18, 2014 8:12 pm

My oil pressure needle is pegged to the H setting on the oil pressure gauge. I am assuming it has broken and wandering how to fix.

Thanks

Yeah, it is the oil pressure sender unit. I ant remember, but I think it was under 40 bucks at tgf dealer, and simple to unscrew the old one.

.......yep, probably the sending unit
good idea to verify it, though
if & when you get a new one, be sure it is for your specific year of truck as there was a change after the first year or two of production

Thanks guys, so where is this part located and any tips for changing it?

Is this something that will hurt the car if I drive it?

1) see pg LU-8 in the service manual for location http://www.thenissanpath.com/filelib/R5 ... ce/fwd.pdf
2) have a drain pan beneath and lots of rags when you remove the old one
3) should do no harm

I am not able to see all of the manual for some reason.

The last thing I see is the quick ref guide.

The oil pressure sensor is not hard to find. It's located on the passenger side of the engine. When installing the new sensor you may want to add some rtv sealant to the threads to prevent any oil leaks.
