235/85R16 winter tires and wheels

I was kind of worried about replacing the stock 4 ply General Grabber P245/75R16's with 10 ply Michelin LTX MS 235/85R16 tires on this PF as it's a fairly light truck but the ride is great both on highway and off at 45 PSI with no additional noise, good corning feel and no wandering on pavement. The stock suspension takes out most of the roughness and slow speed bumps are smoothed out rather than being harsh. Maybe not a SoCal look but narrower heavily siped tires are recommended for northern winter ice and hard packed highway snow. :)

I love the look of your black hubcaps... Makes the already rugged looking Pathfinder appear to be even more aggressive and purposeful. Where did you get the hubcaps?

Not hubcaps, they are exact fit black steel wheels from the local Nissan Dealership, they didn't tell me who the supplier is but it looks like an Italian name stamped into the rim side along with a DOT approval, wheel size, etc. Paint quality is minimal so I'm thinking redoing with powder coat or similar down the road. As to aggressive this truck is just a bare bones basic work truck, aggressive would be Goodyear UniSteel with a touch of armor in the body. 8)

Stiffer than stock ?? I cant see how 235-85-16's can be stiffer than the 235-75-16's ....I would think the 85's would be super squirmy on corners ...

Now the 275-60-17's I have are much stiffer , but I love it ... way better handling than the squishy 265-70-16's mine came with !!

Steelies make it look super base model ... Looks almost like a Government rig !

Thanks Shawn, we occasionally get some ugly weather here, so function before form, the black steel look is fairly common here during winter. 8)
