2008 + Stereo Dash Kit!!!!!!

Postby sbm806 » Mon Apr 28, 2014 2:21 pm

They are finally making a dash kit for the 2008 + ....with the LCD screen. Metra is selling the piece its around 200. You can now add a double din stereo to your stock dash. The dash kit moves all the controls to the sides and leaves the LCD screen and opens up the middle.

It allows you to add an aftermarket radio and keep the display. So you'll have two screens in the dash, one with that 7 inch display from the factory and then another from the radio you install. It allows you to retain the factory controls too through the steering wheel input module.

There another kit out there (google nav-tv) to add navi to the 7 inch screen. It comes with an overlay that adds a touchscreen, and then you interrupt the video signal going into the screen. When you put it in nav mode, it disconnects the input from the car and turns the screen into the navigation. You can do the same for a backup camera too. They're time consuming to install but the finished product is great. I've never done one in a pathy but I have done a few infiniti's and its really sharp.

I checked Metra's site and it's still saying there is no dash kit for the integrated radio setup.

Holy most-expensive-Metra-kit-ever!

I'm trying to wrap my head around the kit. So the buttons in the kit replace the factory buttons so you still have functionality with the factory LCD, but does a single/double-DIN radio mount below then?

Doesn't look half-bad in the installation instructions.

I really think I am gonna do this with my 2011 Pathy. I tried the Audiovox Media Bridge and it legitimately sucks.

Install complete! It was a bit of a pain in the rear, with a few calls to tech support, but it's in and sounds great.
