Sometimes we experience a problem switching from 4WD Hi, into 2WD on our 2011 Pathfinder; the knob will not turn to the left into 2WD. No problems going into and out of 4WD Lo.
Any insight?

The knob is just part of an electrical switch; there should be anything to cause it to hang-up. Maybe you have a faulty switch? I've had some difficulty getting the 4WD-HI to shift into 2WD on my 08 SE after turning the knob to 2WD; usually I'll stop when this occurs, put the trans in neutral, then into reverse and back up a few feet, then back into drive. This will usually get it to engage 2WD, but I have no issues as far as the switch, though.
I had a similar issue about a month ago my 4WD switch was stuck in 4x4 and would not turn at all back to 2WD it was strange. I just drove a few miles in 4x4 and the switch turned no problem. I have no idea why it did not switch back I used 4x4 more this winter then ever before I was constantly switching in and out but this was the only time it happend.
