Blackstone recently raised their price on the basic analysis to $28 plus $10 if you want to get info an extending the oil change interval. The sample kit to mail in is free.disallow wrote:Sometimes CAIs sound cool, that could be worth something.
I have a k&n filter charger that I use. I think it's great. I literally never have to change my filter. I clean it and oil it about every other year. Just did the white rag test in the intake tube while doing my rad, and it was ridiculously clean so also very happy with that.
Next I'd like to do an oil analysis like you did as that is also very telling.
I read through the first 15 of the 26 pages and then jumped to the last couple. I would have loved if somebody had actually compared the stock v. modified vs. Volant air boxes on a dyno to get some actual proof of benefits of cutting the snorkel. There are a lot of "theories," but it seems the only thing we actually know about the mod is that it makes it louder and keeps dirt better distributed across the filter media as opposed to just the right corner. There's no actual proof that the shortened snorkel does anything to increase airflow, reduce turbulence or increase power...and I don't accept "butt dynos" as a scientific tool. It "may" improve performance, I would just like to see some numbers to back it up, that's all.not on the rug wrote:I stayed with my factory intake and just did the Titan airbox mod and threw in a K+N filter.
Whenever I get around to it, I'm thinking of removing the current snorkel tube and replacing it with a larger diameter tube to hopefully allow more air in to the airbox than the current one does. I'm thinking that some sort of flexible tubing would be easier to manipulate than a hard pipe.
