Calmini Lift question

Postby Sergio169 » Thu Apr 07, 2016 1:05 pm

For those of you that have the calming lift which one did you go with? There are 2 options the 5" with sway A-way coilovers and one without them. There is about an $800 difference between the two. The main question is what is a Sway away coilover and do I need it???

as for the front a calmini lift is a drop bracket you can use smaller springs like you have now but i think you would need a spacer ontop.

Im not to familiar with what comes in the kit but a drop bracket lift you can run longer shocks as the sway a way coilovers just because they are longer so you get more travel.

for the price i would look for a titan swap with long travel kit but thats just me.

A little story for you about Calmini.

My first hand experience. I'm sure others may have had better experiences than myself.

I did order the 5" sway away kit through a off road shop. The shop did contact Calmini on a regular basis about my order. The response was "they are in production". After three long months still no word. I contacted the shop once again and asked them to cancel my order.

I was down at the shop having a few things done to my Pathy. Out of curiosity I ask the shop about Calmini. He said they didn't call Calmini to cancel the order (I didn't put a deposit down) he wanted to see how long it took.

It is now close to 6 months since the order was placed.

Sergio, not a problem.

Research I did was around a three month wait, but heck 6 months

I just wanted to pass on my experience. If you're not in a hurry to build your Pathy go for it :)

Good luck with your build.

Yup, ordered mine late July, showed up I believe mid January, maybe even later.

And yeah, you don't want that spacer on top, not a good look but you can keep your current shocks and use the spacer, otherwise you'll want to get longer shocks. Then again every other lift (Ford/Chevy/Dodge) also use spacers for the lower end/mid level lifts.

But the damn coiolvers get $$$$. I paid more for the 2 up front on my Pathy than I did for all 4 on my Maxima.
