Nissan Extended Warranty question

Postby derrick » Mon Oct 20, 2008 2:01 pm

Hi Guys,

newbie here, i bought a nissan pathfinder 05 LE with 45k mi. last month and was upsell by the dealer to get the Nissan extended warranty.(Securty+Plus Pre-owned Preffered)

i would like to know if any of the memebrs here has a good/bad experience of this kind of warranty from Nissan? they say i can bring it to any Nissan Autorized Service Center

will i be better off with other? like warranty direct?

Thanks a lot and more power to the group.

I don't know if the Nissan extended warantee plan gives good coverage, but I had an intake manifold coolant leak repaired on a GMC extended warantee plan a few years ago. The bill came to about $3500 as they had to pull the top end of the motor apart to do the seal replacement, so that one worked out well as the 5 year extended plan was only about $1200. I think an extended warantee is good insurance if you got the plan for a reasonable cost. Another good plan to keep your mechanical parts trouble free is to drive like an old fart and change your component oil and fluids about twice as often as the owners manual recommends.
