Idle & motor mount?

Postby Kestral » Mon Oct 03, 2016 8:04 am

At work one of our Ford Focus cars had a broken motor mount so the cars idle was quite shaky so we had it replaced and all is well. so I got to thinking the idle in my 2012 Pathy is shall we say not that great but according to many people with Pathfinders & Frontier PU's it seems to be a common complaint with the VQ40DE V6 that the idle is not that great. Although I am wondering could I have a broken motor mount? Are they known to brake on the Pathy?

This also brings up a question how is your idle on your V6 Pathfinder?

There were some mount issues on the early R51's and a TSB, but not on the 2012 models. The idle is usually a little on the rough side on the VQ40DE engines. Raising the base idle helps it a little, but you need a capable scan tool or a tuner like Superchips to adjust it.

Thanks SMJ I am sure it's just the nature of the beast. I don't think I will mess with it at all it runs so darn good otherwise.
