Air box

Postby Kestral » Sun Apr 16, 2017 8:25 am

Just a reminder to check how your air box top is sitting on your air box. I did an oil change two days ago and checked my air filter and today I checked my oil and noticed a slight "Bow" to the back part of my air box top in the back where the middle push on tab is. You could actually see the filter rubber sticking out the middle! Anyway I realized the best way to get the top on right is to .. Yell and swear at it!! .. Lol .. Grab the bottom of the box with the left hand and give the top a good smack and a push it seems to lock right in then lift the front locking tabs. Anyway check yours it's real easy to mess up.

Yeah I tend to not check my air filter because it's a PITA to put back

Don't sweat it. Not even the Nissan techs are able to properly seal the air box, not one in all the times I have had complementary inspections of the filter. I have to come home and do it myself.

I remove the front tube between the throttle body and air box. Remove the air cleaner top, replace the filter and reinstall the top. Then, reinstall the front tube.
