Rear Bumper solution?

Postby skywhr » Sat Jan 03, 2009 8:18 pm

Ive searched the forums for a while now and cant find anything regarding a rear bumper aftermarket replacement. Something a bit more rugged.
My last trip to the trail i destroyed my rear bumper part of my hatch and driver side tail light...

Is there anything available to protect the rear?

Help me out

Best bet for a good lead on finding one is an actual mechanic shop that does mods on 4x4's. I'm sure someone there can lead you the way to having one made. It'll be pricey, be sure of that.

I was looking for a heavy duty bumper with swing out tire carrier for my Jeep and the guy wanted almost $1000!

I hit the trail bone stock, I do not have a 3" body lift I just knew ppl were looking for lifts and knew that the AC 3" body lift was newly available. I have a 2" PRG spacer lift sitting in my garage though :P

I just got done installing the rear 2" spacers...took a few hours (I dont have a floor jack) had to use the jack that came with the pathy. Looks good, now I just need to tackle the front....

I wonder what size tires I can use after I finish this 2" lift....?

As for the busted rear end, on the trail in Northern VA, had to turn around on a tight trail slide into a bigass rock :x , thats about it...

You will not be allowed to have breakfast again, until after you have posted pictures. Do I make myself clear?

You can fit the Shrockworks Rear bumper for the Xterra found here:
http://shrockworks.com/Xterra-Rear-Bump ... 16160.html

The back of the frame of the XTerra is the same as the Pathfinder. It's a direct bolt on. Only thing you have to do is cut the rear plastic wraparound bumper. I was at Shrockworks 2 years ago to have them fit my sliders and we realized the rear bumper can fit. Already spent 2K on armor for my Pathy so I had to forego the rear bumper.

How long have you been waiting?

What are their sliders running as far as costs?
