2006 nissan pathfinder Can't read codes for checking eng

I tried to read the codes for my checking in light, but i got the message on my code reader error linking to vehicle, so i went to auto zone and had them try to read the code and they were also have trouble connecting to the vehicle.

Make sure there are no blown fuses and the ECM relay is good. If those are okay, there will need to be some circuit checks made, including the circuits between the OBD II connector and the ECM, checking for power to the ECM from the IPDM.

I replaced the relay today with no luck, have to check fuses next.
