I checked out a couple at a Richmond, VA, dealer and it was all fine until I saw the $45K+ price tag on them! Honestly, if I was to get a new SUV, I'd go for the Kia Telluride. That said, I can't afford either, so I'll be sticking with my 06 Pathy LE for a while longer and my 03 Frontier SVE KC/4x4. Both are paid off and are running well with only the occasional repair needed. They do what I need them to do and the Pathy is great in snow for when I need to get to or from work on such days.

Bump:

I been eyeing a R52 Pathfinder as of late.
Hopefully some folks can post up some stuff :)

Also a technician on Nico says the 2017 model year and up transmissions are significantly beefed up in the Pathfinder.
This was in order to have a comfortable margin of safety for the best in class tow rating.
(not that I intend to tow.. but beefy transmission always sounds good to me, since nowadays engines have become so good and reliable, the one truly expensive thing left to break on a vehicle is the transmission)

Reports are that the MY 2017+ R52 CVT transmissions ARE much better. But at this point, it's rumored that for 2022, Nissan is totally redesigning the Pathy (R53?) with a conventional 9-speed transmission. Maybe bide you time a bit longer?

By all accounts that new 9 speed in the 2020 Frontier is pretty sweet. 8)
And of course thats probably the one they would be using.

But I probably wont be willing to spend the coin needed for a brand new vehicle, used is me

I am also trying to recruit the transmission Guru from our new parent forum Nico to stop by here and drop some knowledge.

Good idea, Fred! It's been very quiet lately.

Still have mine. Some issues with the front end. Brakes done, tires etc on top of that. Driver seat split on me and will have to get that repaired. Other than the noise to get checked out again on the front end my push unlock on the tailgate pushed up thru. Grrr. But she looks great. :)

Great to see you are still around! :D

Too late in the year now for snowstorm pics..

I wish someone would post up some dramatic pathy pics in the desert or snow for us so those of us who live in easy-states (Florida) can live vicariously through them :P
