power socket removal............

having a very difficult time removing power socket in dash in order to replace broken cover :(
has anyone else done this, and how was it accomplished without breaking anything :?

pull the fuse.
reach in with a couple picks or whatever and release the two black plastic tabs. Push them outward from the middle while pulling the whole cover/socket asmb. out. release cover from tube, swap, reverse.

thanks, that's what i thought, still trying, even pushing out on socket assy from the back of the panel it's mounted in, still won't budge :?

If you pull the shifter bezel (I presume it's the front sockets), and pocket trim (they just pull out) you can gain access to the sides/back of the sockets. Might help....
