Remote start system

Postby labsy » Mon Nov 02, 2015 6:38 pm

Hey guyz,

did anybody install some type of Remote Start system to Pathfinder? For example, I was looking at something like this: https://www.viper.com/car/remotestart/p ... art-system, but there are not enough details about wiring and needed modules, if your car has Intellingent Key System (Keyless entry/start) already OEM installed.

Many people who install these and defeat the system by taping a key behind the dash. I prefer not to do that.

A professional 12v installer who has experience would usually steer you away from viper and towards compustar. They would also install a proper bypass module to make not to compromise the anti-theft features built into your truck.

My install also tied into the factory alarm. All in for a 2-way system with alarm was about $500.

Why would an installer steer you away from viper? I've had many more problems with my compustar than I ever had with my Viper systems.

I trust my 30 year experienced MECP certified installer and good friend.

His opinion is that problems encountered are due to poor installation, and has always carried compustar and fixed many viper installations. Usually by tearing them out and replacing with compustar. :)
