'06 Starting Problem

I tried a search and found a few starting problems, but nothing that's matching my problem. I have an '06 LE. Thursday night it wouldn't start. I had run the gas down far lower than normal on Wednesday (nearly empty) and filled it up Wednesday night. The truck was driven 24 km on Thursday morning an...

I painted over the ugly faux-wood trim on my LE. I used some Duplicolor paint marketed as interior trim paint with a gloss coat and a lot of sanding and polishing work to get it to look good.

I've had no problems starting my PF down to about -30 F, other than some extra noise, when I've been places with no way to plug the block heater in. It makes sense that the battery was the culprit.

Are you talking about how on some (most?) vehicles the doors auto lock when you drive at a certain speed?

Bare feet huh? Sounds like a myth.

Anyway, driving back from Fargo last weekend I was down to around 8.9 L/100km. Once I got home it went up to around 12 L/100 km with the city driving factored in for that tank of fuel. I had about 350 km of highway driving and 180 km of city driving on that tank.

I think that you guys are talking about two different things. The LE has heated/power side-view (outside) mirrors and the autodimming rear-view mirror with the compass and homelink. I think that OP is talking about adding the auto-dimming rear-view mirror. I have seen aftermarket auto-dimming mirror...

I understand that they don't really offer much protection and in some cases can cause additional damage from being bent up into the grille. Perhaps someone with experience with them has further insight.

Block heaters aren't standard equipment, at least not as far south as Texas... Thanks again BMX, the reason for posting the question about block heater use in the US was to get folks here thinking about improving a portion of fuel economy by getting the engine working at closed loop optimum stoichi...

With this kind of stuff I never take a reviewer at their word. The claims of improvement are subjective claims and sound like the same claims I see in audio with people buying a $500 or more A/C power cable for a CD player. If it worked so well a couple of simple tests could verify it (measure the h...

Yeah, only the CAI and headers. I suppose it is because the PF seems the least sport/offroad oriented of the midsize trucks/SUVs. I mean, the third row addition kind of shows the mentality. Of course with the exception of the wheels and shocks, most of the Xterra/Frontier parts are MT related. Does ...

It's not surprising that the diesel beat the Prius. A few years ago they did a test on Top Gear between a Prius and one of the VW diesels. The VW had almost double the mileage of the Prius on the test (~72 mpg vs ~40 mpg).

I never buy the extended warranties offered on any product. Simply put they are not worth it on average and in the long run. Never purchasing one will put you far ahead in the long run. Figures that I've seen show payouts on extended warranties to be between 5% and 20% of the cost of the warranty.

Welcome, that's a great looking truck. I've been considering picking up an older PF for four-wheeling as I'd be a bit less concerned about damaging it.

I've actually already built that WMTW center. It's a really nice unit. I'm going to be building the matching towers for it as well. I had a couple of RL-p15s which I sold to a buddy of mine (in the enclosures). I have a pair of CSS SDX15s in a big ported box right now and I'm going to be building a ...
