So when you hit a bump, it is actually taking off from your intended path requiring steering corrections? I've had a lot of experience with bump steer in lifted straight axle Jeeps and Fords. My '08 S doesn't bump steer at all. I feel the hit through the wheel when I hit a bump, but I don't need to ...
Our Pathfinder only has 6,000 miles on it, so no oil use is kind of expected. However, we have a VQ30 in our Maxima with 145k and it also uses no oil, at all.
I noticed streaks on the inside of the rear window on the way home the day we bought it. I've seen it a couple of other times too. It hasn't bothered me enough to mention it. I've been fighting with the dealer about the alignment, which has been a bigger issue for me.
I'll be interested to hear about the in-cab controller. We have it a 15psi normally, and pop it up to 30psi for towing. We towed last weekend with our 2,000lb. Starcraft with a 240lb. tongue load. There were four of us in the PF and a bunch of stuff in the back. The road we took was a back road with...
This first week we had our Pathfinder we took a road trip. With the four of us which includes small kids in the back and just a couple weekend bags, the rear would bottom on back roads. I put the air bags in right away and have had no issues since. Thanks to Carl for the write up that originally inf...
I know the vibration you are talking about. Sometimes it gets a little worse then smooths out, like it's adjusting itself. It's just enough to notice. The VQ40 is nowhere near as smooth as the old VQ30 either at idle or on the road. If my Maxima groaned like this, I wouldn't like it. But it seems to...
We needed: Seating for 7(wife's mandate) Reliable/Durable Off-road capable w/low range Able to tow a reasonable amount Decent gas mileage Good cross country comfort Within a price range we could afford The list got short real quick. Since Nissan had a model that fit the bill, we focused on that. We'...
Wow! I'm surprised tempers didn't flare with the original "pros". It seems it's hard to find anyone that knows jack about their own trade anymore. I guess we know who to come to now for wheel advise. After 20 years of putting aftermarket wheels on my cars, I'd never even heard of a hub rin...
The '08 seems longer in front than the other years. I took no measurements, but I compared it to an identical '05 I parked next to. The front of the '05 is much flatter, as Danguy says. The '08 has a more rounded front and the bumper appears to stick further out from the hood than the older models.
It's a shame it's so new. However, a good body shop should be about to make it good as it was. Our Maxima has been rear ended twice. I still drive it and you can't tell from looking at it or driving it that it was ever damaged. My mother's former Grand Cherokee was rear ended so bad, it bent so the ...
They are for the 7 pin connector setup. I used one these holes and an L bracket for my Airlift valve. I don't know the size/pitch. I just raided my bucket of bolts for one that would fit. Oddly enough, I think the bolt I found came from my old 1980 Datsun KingCab.
I didn't find the price discrepancy big enough to warrant buying used. With the factory rebate and the Costco deal, it didn't seem that much more just to buy a new one, which we did. The next Pathfinder is a few years off and may be lighter duty: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/09/nissan-pathfinder-...
Mine flutters too. I played with the rubber snubbers, but they didn't do anything. So I loosened the latch itself and shoved it all the way down. This helped a lot. I kept the snubbers right where they were so that the latch pulls harder down, and the snubbers are pushing harder up. It still flutter...
