Could you tell if it was the engine fan or just the electric one? The engine fan would rise and fall with engine speed. I assume that every fan in the truck was blowing at full speed, even when idle. The amount of noise coming from the fans was impressive, but even more impressive was the fact that...

But it's a Dry Heat. Today is the first day in Moab where it was under 100°F. It only got up to 99.8° today! Amazingly, unless you're out in the Sun, temps up to 95° don't really feel hot. But in the Sun, even a balmy 99° was broiling. Today we spent the day in Arches National Park. We've done enoug...

Well, with spending so much time trying to get my Air-Lift airbags replaced (Air-Lift sucks!), the group off-road run idea kinda fell apart. So I did it alone. We drove about 32 miles on paved roads up into the LaSal mountains and then turned-off on Sand Flats Rd. Sand Flats Rd was pretty tame, with...

:x I am so %@%$# pissed-off at Air-Lift. They screwed-up my order a third time. This is company is so incompetent and so apathetic that they don't deserve a dime of your business. Once again, they failed to ship the Air-Lift kit -- another "computer" foul-up, they said. You'd think after t...

Almost forgot. Uploaded photos to Google/PicasaWeb.

These are only from my Fuji S9100. Dylan and Kaleigh also have their own shots that I haven't uploaded. And nothing's been edited yet.

Here's the latest Update. Currently, I'm in Moab. Today the temperature hit 110°F in the shade. South Dakota was a blast. The Badlands are stunningly beautiful. We toured the area dragging the camper, and used every minute of daylight viewing scenery and hiking out at some interesting stops. I would...

FYI, I am in Moab now. It was 105°F on the way in pulling the trailer through the Rockies. The fans were blowing full speed, making quite a racket. But they were obviously doing their job, as the temp gauge never moved above normal. Ditto today while off-roading. It was 110°F in the shade, but no sh...

Here I sit in Oakdale, WI, being slowly drained of all blood by a cloud of mosquitoes. So far it's been an interesting trip. I'm getting an average of 8.5 MPG pulling this beast of a trailer. Pennsylvania was not kind to me, running in 3rd-gear at 55-60 trying to drag the camper up the mountains. I ...

My hangup is I got the 760 for $349.99 (S/H included) plus tax from Costco.com. I cannot find it that cheap at a "reputable vendor" and it was a limited engagement item from Costco. Return yours at a local store and order another from Costco. I've got a Costco membership and have had to d...

I also purchased the 760 but its CLA was broken on arrival. The tip unscrews to replace the fuse. It's broke off at the base of the threads. It appears to be a manufacturing defect since the shipping and product boxes are pristine. To make sure I understand your mod, you added a CLA plug to the Nis...

Too bad I'll be too far away. It would have been good to get together.

Hope you have fun, too.

Have you heard about the trick of putting 1-qt transmission fluid in with your oil to clean your engine? Apparently, trans fluid has very high detergent properties, and it's a well known trick to substitute 1-qt of oil with trans fluid and then drive around with that mixture for a few days before ch...

All of the 7xx series has a built-in FM transmitter to send sound from the GPS (directions, music, Audible books) to your car stereo. It does not tap-into your vehicle's antenna line, it broadcasts and your antenna has to pick it up. And, with Pathfinders (and many other vehicles), this is a problem...

After trying, unsuccessfully, to get them from my local dealer for three weeks, I broke down and ordered them from Courtesy Parts. Should be here on Tuesday. Now, if it just doesn't rain, I should be set to go on my roadtrip on Thursday.

Are you sure you would notice if the mechanical fan was engaged? I remember, back in the old days, that was all we had on cars and I don't remember any difference in noise between the fan clutch being engaged and not. But anyhow, it's nice to know the temperature gauge never moved, even with ...
