I get away with running 87 octane on a daily basis...helps I live at 5000+ feet above sea level!! I've run 87 octane for 51k miles, even when pulling a 5,000# trailer, with never a knock or a ping. I tried 91 while towing and it made no noticeable difference in performance and the small improvement...

For those who this, if the nuvi bracket is removed, is there enough space to make the housing another cubby for putting junk in? Yes, it would make a nice covered cubby. You'd have to find some cushioning material and cut/glue in place to keep things from sliding around. Sears sells rubber mat mate...

I told her that I knew plenty of people with a 2005 that have had the same problem. She said I'd have to take it up with Nissan USA. I say we need to all band together to get this taken care of. I'm about to call Nissan USA to see what I can get out of them. I have same problem as well, call them b...

My understanding is that a recall must be performed for free regardless of whether you're the original owner or warranty/service status.

Dunno why the brake fluid was a lil bit low tho , the truck got 15k miles , no brake fluid at all on the ground ... Anyway everythings fine now si thats cool :) Normal brake wear will cause the fluid level to drop as the pistons in the calipers expand to make up for the thinner pads. However, unles...

Wow, they are still fine after a year's use? I'm going to try a set, but no way I'm buying them from Amazon. It looks like TireRack has them at comparable prices, and there's a few other places returned courtesy of Google Shopping.

I never got anything but disappointment from Amazon.

Sweet looking, Carl. I have a few concerns, though: A cross member was removed from the roof, causing me concerns about the structural integrity and roll-over survivability. Does the strength of the frame for the sunroof make up for the loss of the cross member? It seems you've left off the front cr...

We're all waiting for an update, Carl. How's the road noise at highway speeds with the roof closed? Have you hit any weather yet to test for leaks? Pix?

If you're talking about the new frameless "streakfree" Michellin wiper blades, I have to totally agree. I spent about $30 for a pair for my son's Jeep Cherokee and the chatter like hell from the start. Total junk.

You can get the following kit from your Nissan dealer to replace your Pathfinder's 4-pin trailer connector with a 7-pin connector that allows electronic brake control. http://www.courtesyparts.com/receiver-hitch-tow-harness-kit-pin-2008-2009-pathfinder-p-568899.html?cPath=6833_7314_7631& You wil...

Invitation: Off-Roading in the NJ Pine Barrens

Looking to see if there's interest in a one- or five-day trip to the NJ Pine Barrens for some off-roading, canoeing and/or camping. Follow this link to my posting in the NY Area section.

Trip to the NJ Pine Barrens

Anyone interested in going off-road in the Pine Barrens? I don't have enough V time or $ to go cross-country again this year, but I'm still looking to have some fun this summer. I figure 5 days in the Pineys and maybe two or three at the shore will make for a good diversion. If your interested in jo...

Re: Gamrin mount and cable swap question

First has anyone swapped out the cable interface (and maybe mount) that comes with the Factory Nissan kit? I have a Nuvi 765T that I want to stick in there, and it uses the GTM20 power cable that also has the FM traffic receiver on it. I've done it. You have to take the housing apart (itty-bitty ph...
