they told me the same thing and it was $14 / quart. After searching the web, I think the S can be mixed safely with the J and it has improvements over it ( read from NICO forums) I will probably buy online, I recall seeing it for $7.95 / quart somewhere. I paid $12.44 + tax so you're getting ripped...

Did they change the trans fluid to "S"?

I went to the dealer today to buy a quart of trans fluid. On my dipstick it says use only "J", but at the dealer the parts guy said they updated all cars to "S".

Before I pour this in my trans, can anyone confirm this is true?

How you guys deal with topping the fluid off after installing external coolers? How do you know how much to add to get the right level? When replacing fluid completely, its easier to measure the drained fluid and pour in the same quantity of the new fluid. How about topping it off when it comes to ...

Of course it crumbled, the idiot who was using it clearly went beyond that jack's capacity.. not to mention it doesn't look like it was seated properly on the diff, which is why it twisted in the first place. And you shouldn't be going under a vehicle unless it's supported by stands. You couldn't p...

thanks for posting those for me coop. forgot to mention it's easier to check for leaks/test drive etc. before you reinstall your skid plate and plastic front valance. :) So I installed my B&M aux cooler today based on Trowerpow's directions. I did it a little differently. The three changes I ma...

There's a dipstick under the hood, its locked down by a 10mm bolt. It's on the passenger side. I don't think that's enough to tell if the fluid is contaminated or not. I believe the fluid is lighter than the water so the water will sink lower in the pan than the dipstick goes even with the engine r...

The tell-tale sign will be a strawberry milky looking transmission fluid. Check it every once in a while and you'll be okay. If you notice discoloration or loss of clarity in the fluid, it's mixing with coolant. IMO by the time you notice symptoms while driving, it's far too late. and how can you c...

You must do a lot of highway miles or are very easy on your brakes. I'm at 27K and they don't have much life left on them, but most of my driving is stop and go traffic

Yes I would say it makes sense to do the modification right off the bat, though I guess it depends on what year your truck is. I haven't heard of any 06+ having the transmission problem but that could very well be because it just hasn't had enough time to develop yet. Better safe than sorry, I did ...

I have one on my Audi. Works OK. It catches very fine particles on the magnet. It almost looks a little like sludge when you wipe it off. For the cost, it can't hurt

just installed the magna-flow exhaust on the pathy v-6 and it sounds great. the start-up groan is sexy as hell. whats nice is at high speeds (highway) there is NO drone or low hum that would be really annoying on something more like a flowmaster setup. i have a 2008, which has no room for dual exha...
