I'm assuming the gap between the top of the spring mount and the airlift bag goes away when the vehicle is lowered?

Steel Braided Brake Lines

Anyone installed this mod yet? If I recall correctly there is a maintenance schedule in the owner's manual stating to change the brake fluid at a certain interval. Seems might as well do this for the low cost.

Thoughts?

As for the OBX it says they are for 04-08 Titan/Armada and look to be shorties as opposed to the long throw Doug Thorley headers. Any idea if they'll fit a 2011 V8 LE R51 and what else is required to make them fit?

Is a custom exhaust required if one chooses to go with the Doug Thorley headers? To clarify, is the stock exhaust so restrictive it would mitigate much of the benefit of headers? I've read a lot of posts on these boards about swapping out mufflers. Are these same swaps including the front pipe / hea...

Meguiar's ultimate paste wax coupled with a clay bar before hand put a nice shine on my black R51 this weekend. Would recommend for both the finished product and ease of use. Stuff comes right off without the dust residue of some carnuba blends.

how many bonnets are you guys going through on your R51?

After about one side of the vehicle I find it doesn't remove the wax so I am changing out twice for a total of three 10" bonnets when I decide to wax my rig.

Any idea if this is safe on black paint which tends to show fine scratches more easily than other colors?

I went to one of those self-carwashes and the foam brush was a piece of s#!t and scratched a few places on my bumper.

I'll second the benefits of a clay bar. I've found the clay bar kit from Meguiar's is sufficient for my use. Can use soapy water as a lubricant or the spray wax that comes with the kit.

Don't forget to clay bar the windows and headlights too.

Thanks everyone. It is clearly a s#!t battery. I spent 30 minutes in the parking lot the other day on a 50 degree day listening to the radio. I had no other auxiliary systems on and when I went to turn the ignition there was hesitation. Had it been below freezing I would have required a jump. Going ...

'Loose Gas Cap' warning?

Anyone else experience this? Recently filled up my Pathfinder and when I look down at the tripometer I now see a scrolling text telling me 'loose gas cap.' Thought to myself, simple enough i'll just unscrew it and tighten it up until it clicks. Well, I've done this half a dozen times over the course...

Spoke with some folks and they corroborate what's posted on these boards: the factory battery is garbage and good for about 36 months. Ironically, Nissan dealers offer an 84 month battery 100% guaranteed for the first two years and prorated after that. Makes you wonder why they don't put this batter...

Thanks for the reply. Question for those that have already replaced their batteries. Did anyone upgrade to an Optima and if so has the additional expense been worth it? At a minimum, barring an accident that totals the vehicle, I will be driving this for the next five years. I would like a battery t...

With sub-zero cold here, snow related gridlock, and warming the vehicle before trips I'm averaging 12.4 MPG on this oil change.
