I'm in the same boat - past couple of months my mileage has dropped to about 10-11mpg. Vancouver city driving, stop & go. Even on a long drive I'm only getting about 14mpg. I keep the K&N clean and change the oil regularly (5w30 Mobile1). Should really think about selling this vehicle and ge...

no, wasn't a harness coming unplugged. I was on a fire-road/trail in 4-lo. While it was friggin lumpy and covered in snow/ice, it wasn't like I was actually going through trees and brush. Hasn't come back, so I'm just going to write it off as the transmission was getting too hot or something. But af...

any chance this could have been the IPDM issue that seems to be popping its head up?

- sudden loss of power
- dash lights going crazy
- leaving it to cool down and chill out and then good to go again....

Has anyone received a recall letter for the IPDM relay yet?

na, definitely not a wiring harness issue. I suspect it's something transmission related. Unfortunately these new Pathfinders are all electronically 4-wheel drive vehicles. My old '95 had a true LSD and was definitely a better off-road vehicle. Reason for suspecting transmission is that I was in 4-L...

u1000 error code

So I was off in the bush yesterday, up a trail in 4Lo working my way up a hill when I totally loose all power and the truck basically dies. Just totally looses power and won't go anywhere, the transmission indicator goes blank and Service Engine light comes on. I managed to back down a bit and get i...

Did the transmission bypass last night. Was sooo easy. Easy Easy steps. 1. go to parts store and get a couple of rubber hose terminations and hose clamps (don't really need the clamps though). 2. crawl under truck 3. remove skid plate (if you have one) and a plastic trim piece 4. using pliers, work ...

I just got done with the same install (3GD dimpled / slotted rotors, Green Stuff 7000 front / 6000 rear). Had some help from a co-worker and that helped. Was able to use basic socket set (with a short piece of pipe as a breaker bar) and a small screw driver (to hold the small brake pad clips in the ...

this is what my bad fuel sender looked like. the teeth/arms make contact with the contacts on the circuit board. the teeth had worn down from moving back and forth (and probably from the gas in the tank)

when I get the chance, I'll post pics of the fuel sender that went bad in my 05 SE-OR. Looking at it closely, I can see what happened - and it will be the same with ALL Pathfinders. Eventually they with ALL have issues. The fuel sender unit has a float that (obviously) floats in the fuel. As the lev...

I just did mine the other day and am quite happy with it. Have yet to try out 4 people in the vehicle, but I notice that the rear end isn't as soft (I have about 15-20psi in the bags). Took me about an hour and half, but part of that was spent looking around work for something to use for a bracket t...

wonder if anyone has started a petition against Nissan for this fault. As the 2005/2006 models get higher mileage, it looks like they all start to fail around 50k miles. Mine was around 52k and I now have 66k. I'm beginning to get a bit tired of the "Engine Service" light being on all the ...

I'd rather have the manual transmission / diesel option.....

but I've always found if wierd that Nissan never made a cargo cover for the North American model. We have the mounting points for it, but end up that everyone else gets them.
