my dealer is not that generous, they told me 6k.....

so it might be aamco who does my work...895 plus parts, but I guess they wont know exactly until they take it apart.

my tranny is contaminated and it triggered the check engine light, got codes dealing with the solenoids or something like that. Anyone know if taking it to AAMCO is a good choice?, guy told me repair is at $895 plus whatever parts I will need. I should definitely tell them to refill it with matic j ...

If it is infact contaminated....why not flush with something cheap like matic D/dextron (any trans shop $70-ish) then "spill and fill" as needed with Matic J - that way your at least sure you're not circulating coolant contaminated fluid and risking damage. you think this would reset the ...

I guess my mechanic is going to flush as much as possible, im trying to get all the contamination out. What different methods are there? My mechanic said he'll use regular transmission oil with a machine and then he will take that out and leave the regular dealer "transmission oil". hopefu...

wow those guys at the dealer told me that it only takes 6 quarts. So when they do a flush its 12 quarts?

Yes I know i bought another 6 quarts for the entire flush. Do you mean 6 to flush and the other 6 that will remain in there?

Went to the dealer and asked for a transmission filter since i am doing the flush, to try to get rid of contamination already in my pathfinder....dam radiators, but no filter is required, there is just a screen like datsun08 says.

Does anyone one know or recommend I change the transmission filter after I do the flush?

I looked for the part but couldnt find one.

And I should also use NIS ATF MATIC-S 999MP-MTS00P fluid?

Dryart, thanks for the recommendations, i think the radiator will be best o replace because it looked pretty bad when the tech guy took off the cap, no sighns of green at all, almost pure white strawberry substance. As for the flushes, then I am going to do it right away, i was waiting on recieveing...

I am going to have the tranny flushed because I have a bigger problem already, my coolant started mixing already, due to a bad radiator....

anyway doing the "bypass" as well.

Do you know how much I have to put in there to get the tranny fluid to normal levels? And where did you buy it?
