For you guys with the lift bags, do they effect the ride? I use my pathfinder to haul wood pellets for our stove. I make 2 trips per ton, so I'm throwing 1000lbs in the rear at a time. My former ride, a ford explorer, did it no problem. The pathfinder, with 1400lbs of capacity, seems like it really...

I traded mine in as well... picked up an F-350. I just needed more towing capability.

My latest towing endeavours...

Image

Enclosed 22ft trailer with a race car and spares inside! Towed ok. There was a bit of the tail wagging the dog when the trailer was empty and there was wind.

FWIW, I plan to buy a diesel 2500 or 3500 soon.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to skip the camping this weekend as I was concerned with this setup. Next year I'll just buy a 21 footer and get the anti sway setup and be done with it.

Turns out it is 6500 lbs dry. I have a V8 so I should be good. A bit worried about sway but we are not forecasting major wind in the mountains. If there are still campsites available I may give it a shot.

You are bang on. He confirmed today that it is indeed 6500 lbs dry. I am guessing that means I should have no issue towing provided I don't push it on the uphills?

Yeah, that's just what the guy is telling me it weighs when it is full. He doesn't think I can tow it. It has a slider on it which adds weight but not that much. Most trailers in this size range seem to be in the 5000# range so not sure. I was supposed to go check it out tonight but he cancelled so ...

Thinking about renting a 28ft travel trailer this weekend to town in the mountains. Have a WD hitch and air bags. I have an 08 PF V8. Am I crazy? Will the transmission take it or will the crosswinds be my biggest issue (I don't have anti-sway). JC

I was just debating as to whether I can tow a 28ft camper that weighs 9000+ lbs out to BC this weekend. Anyone think this will be an issue for the tranny? I believe with the airbags and WD hitch I have, I can handle the tongue weight but now I am worried about the tranny. JC

We don't use salt here in Alberta. If I was back east, I could see it. But in an arid province with no salt, this truck should not be doing this.

My paint is rusting after 1.5 years... anyone else?

I have a white 2008 PF LE and there are little tiny rust spots over the entire vehicle (even under the 3M protection) and we have only owned the thing for a year and a half (bought new). Anyway, just curious if anyone else has experienced this and what the dealer did for them. I live in an arid regi...

I live in arid alberta and my paint has tiny little rust spots all over it after a year and a half of ownership. We're taking it to the dealer and asking for something to be done because clearly it is a flawed paint job. It's a white 2008 LE.

My 08 V8 has been towing my rally car all over Montana and Western Canada with no issues. I have air bags and also bought a WD hitch and a Prodigy controller. In the pic, the truck is also loaded with tons of tools and spare parts. Great setup. In fact, the truck handles better with the trailer on I...
