I usually reach around the side too, because, if you don't and go through the access hole, there is no where to get the filter back out without the oil pouring down your arm.

I'm way to frugal (read, cheap) for a $15 oil filter.

Installed them! Works great. I feel much better about how my cargo would survive an accident. Thanks for posting this. Cheapest, most fuctional mod I've done yet.

I admit it's a tight squeeze, but in a dozen oil changes, I've never received any life threatening injuries. Wonder if a batch went out, with a bad stamping on the skid plate, leaving sharp edges.

And, of course, exhaust shields are not covered by warranty. What a joke. If it came on the car and it's not a "wear and tear" item, it should be covered.

I didn't say you were that kind of customer, but that's what the dealership sees. They reacted just like I said they would. Shopping around for a different service writer won't matter. I appreciate you helping me illustrate my point, though.

If a dealership knew you were just hunting the internet looking for things you felt should be done to your car, because you found a TSB on it, they may have in issue with reapairing it.

If you go to the dealership on a regular basis, just keep in mind that you can't play stupid after you hand them a TSB. I use the line, "I read some where on the internet..." when I bring it in with an issue related to a TSB i've read.

Although, I am close to printing one out and showing it to them ...
