Another victim of this. Cost was 1900.00 to get Transmission rebuilt. The mechanic also did the bypass mod discussed here. I wasn't the first Pathy he had done, he said. SUCKS!!!!

Mine better be on this list, along with the leaky coolant into transmission cooler. I had to replace both items $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!

Update on my Path: I found a mechanic willing to do payments. The cost was 1900.00. He first confirmed the coolant in the oil. He mentioned that he gets a few of these a month. Not just Nissans, but that he has done a few Paths before as well. Anyways, he rebuilt the tranny and replaced the converte...

Yes, also ask them to check the IPDM/ER. The IPDM/ER controls alot of the electrical stuff. it has relays and fuses aswell as some type of controller.

Update: Did a flush on the tranny using cheap oil from first (if you call 3.44 a quart cheap). I bought 6. Anyways, I went to the dealer and bought 6 quarts of the Matic-S (70.00 bucks!). Did the tranny flush as well as the cooler bypass and unfortunately it's a no go. Initially it sort of worked. D...

I replaced my 2005 Pathfinder's bad IPDM with the same year's Titan IPDM.

It's been about three months and no problems at all. It is also like 60 bucks cheaper.
